Job summary

Uniting is seeking a part-time Home Care Worker (Support Worker) to provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes in the Hawkesbury region. You will travel to clients' homes using your own car and support independence and quality of life.

The role offers development/leadership opportunities within a supportive multi-disciplinary team and benefits as part of a not-for-profit organisation.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is an advantage.
• Similar experience providing client centred care.
• Current First Aid certificate.
• Driver's licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and companionship for older people in their own homes to empower independence and quality of life.
• Help at home with housekeeping, groceries, or meal preparation.
• Personal care including hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, meals, or medication administration.
• Transport to appointments or shopping trips.
• Support clients with social and wellbeing activities such as Healthy Living for Seniors.

Education

What youll be doing in this role

AtUnitingwe call our Home Care Workers, 'Support Workers'. In this role, youll provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes, to help empower their independence and improve their quality of life in theHawkesbury. Youll be required to travel to clients homes and communities, using your own car.

With a focus on supporting our clients to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible, duties and responsibilities can include:

• Help at home:housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation
• Personal Care:personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, help at mealtime or medication administration
• Transport:appointments or shopping trips
• Social and wellbeing:accompany clients on outings or assist with our Healthy Living for Seniors activities

• Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual equivalent an advantage
