Job summary

Uniting is seeking Part-time Home Care Support Workers to provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes in Broken Hill. You’ll travel to clients’ homes using your own car and support independence and quality of life.

Duties include help at home, personal care, transport to appointments, and social activities. We offer stable shifts, development opportunities and a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in client-centered home care.
• Current First Aid certificate required.
• Drivers licence and access to insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes.
• Travel to clients' homes using own car.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Provide personal care including assistance with bathing, toileting, dressing and mealtime support.
• Support clients with appointments and transport to activities or community programs.

  What youll be doing in this role

  AtUnitingwe call our Home Care Workers, 'Support Workers'. In this role, youll provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes, to help empower their independence and improve their quality of life in theBroken Hill. Youll be required to travel to clients homes and communities, using your own car.

  With a focus on supporting our clients to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible, duties and responsibilities can include:

  • Help at home:housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation
  • Personal Care:personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, help at mealtime or medication administration
  • Transport:appointments or shopping trips
  • Social and wellbeing:accompany clients on outings or assist with our Healthy Living for Seniors activities

  Qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual equivalent an advantage
  • Similar experience providing client centred care
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Drivers licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
