Job summary

Uniting in the Wagga Wagga area is seeking a compassionate Home Care Worker to provide person-centred care and companionship to older adults living at home. Travel to clients’ homes using your own car is required, with flexible, stable shifts to fit your hours.

The role covers help at home, personal care, transport, and participation in wellbeing activities; a part-time schedule with development opportunities and a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is an advantage.
• Experience providing client centred care.
• Current First Aid certificate.
• Drivers licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Help at home: housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation
• Personal Care: personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, help at mealtime or medication administration
• Transport: appointments or shopping trips
• Social and wellbeing: accompany clients on outings or assist with Healthy Living for Seniors activities

  What youll be doing in this role

  AtUnitingwe call our Home Care Workers, 'Support Workers'. In this role, youll provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes, to help empower their independence and improve their quality of life in theWagga Wagga area. Youll be required to travel to clients homes and communities, using your own car.

  With a focus on supporting our clients to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible, duties and responsibilities can include:

  • Help at home:housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation
  • Personal Care:personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, help at mealtime or medication administration
  • Transport:appointments or shopping trips
  • Social and wellbeing:accompany clients on outings or assist with our Healthy Living for Seniors activities
