Job summary

Uniting in Brisbane is seeking a part-time Support Worker to provide in-home care and companionship for older people, helping them stay independent. You will travel to clients' homes in the Inner West area using your own car, with stable shifts and development opportunities in a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Your role includes help at home, personal care, transport, and social activities, with a focus on respect, dignity and safe, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is advantageous.
• Experience delivering client-centred care.
• Current First Aid certificate.
• Drivers licence and access to a registered vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and companionship for older people in their own homes.
• Assist with housekeeping, shopping, meal preparation.
• Provide personal care including hygiene, toileting, dressing, and meals.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities.
• Support wellbeing through outings and community activities.

  What youll be doing in this role

  AtUnitingwe call our Home Care Workers, 'Support Workers'. In this role, youll provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes, to help empower their independence and improve their quality of life in theInner West area. Youll be required to travel to clients homes and communities, using your own car.

  With a focus on supporting our clients to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible, duties and responsibilities can include:

  • Help at home:housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation
  • Personal Care:personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, help at mealtime or medication administration
  • Transport:appointments or shopping trips
  • Social and wellbeing:accompany clients on outings or assist with our Healthy Living for Seniors activities

  Qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual equivalent an advantage
  • Similar experience providing client centred care
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Drivers licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
