Job summary

Talent Hub is seeking a compassionate NDIS Support Worker to provide person-centred support to participants across North Brisbane. The role emphasizes patience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to helping people live with greater independence and dignity.

Key responsibilities include personal care, domestic tasks, community access, mobility assistance, and documenting shift notes. Candidates must have required checks and a valid licence; flexibility for casual shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
• Current Working with Children Check (if supporting participants under 18).
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable, insured vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and follow individualised support plans.
• Flexibility to work casual/relief shifts, including evenings, weekends, or short notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and daily living support in line with each participant's care plan
• Assist with domestic tasks such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry
• Support participants with community access, appointments, and social activities
• Assist with mobility and transfers, following individual support plans
• Provide companionship and encourage participant independence and skill-building
• Accurately document shift notes, incidents, and any changes in participant condition
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and individual support/behaviour plans
• Communicate professionally with participants, families, and the broader support team

Essential Criteria

Good to Have

• Manual handling training/certification
• Hoisting experience (mechanical/manual lifting equipment)
• Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP)
• PEG feeding experience/training
