Seymour Whyte Constructions is seeking an experienced Structures Supervisor for the Toogoolawah, QLD dam safety upgrade project. You will oversee structural construction activities, coordinate subcontractors and align with engineers to deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget.

Based on site in Biarra, you will lead safety, productivity and project controls while building strong relationships with the delivery team and stakeholders for successful project outcomes.

Qualifikationen

• Relevant Certificate III and IV qualifications (or substantial progress toward completion).
• Significant civil infrastructure construction experience with structures exposure.
• Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills; ability to deliver pre-starts and toolbox talks.
• Understanding of WHS, environmental requirements, client specifications and ITP compliance.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction programs.

Seymour Whyte Constructions – Toogoolawah QLD

The Cressbrook Dam Safety Improvement Project is a major dam safety and flood resilience upgrade delivering complex works to critical water infrastructure in the Toowoomba Region. Seymour Whyte, in alliance with SMEC and Toowoomba Regional Council, has been selected to help deliver this flagship project, bringing together construction delivery, engineering expertise and collaborative project leadership on one of Queensland’s most significant local government-led dam upgrades.

The scope includes spillway widening, dam crest raising, berm and spillway re-profiling, right-hand wall strengthening, plunge pool widening and deepening, flip bucket extension, instrumentation upgrades and associated enabling works. It is a rare opportunity to join Seymour Whyte on a technically challenging, high-profile project with major civil, structural, hydraulic and dam safety interfaces, and real long-term community impact.

We are seeking an experienced Structures Supervisor to oversee structural construction activities and ensure works are delivered to the highest quality standards, on schedule, and within budget. In this role, you will coordinate subcontractors, manage work fronts and site interfaces, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with project requirements. You will build strong relationships with subcontractors while driving accountability, productivity, and project outcomes to support successful delivery.

Based on site in Biarra, this role offers a generous project uplift, attractive DIDO and LAFHA conditions, and the opportunity to contribute to a major, complex infrastructure project.

About the role:

• Plan, coordinate and supervise structural construction activities across to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality project delivery
• Oversee the delivery of major structural works, including large-scale concrete wall construction, formwork, crane operations and onsite batch plant management
• Work closely with Engineers to develop and implement construction programs, including short-term planning, resource allocation and sequencing of works
• Manage subcontractors, labour, plant and equipment to maximise productivity and ensure works are delivered in accordance with project scope, specifications and quality requirements
• Facilitate construction planning through pre-starts, toolbox talks and team meetings, maintaining clear visibility of upcoming works and driving team performance
• Lead and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring site activities comply with WHS, environmental, quality and client requirements
• Maintain accurate daily records, timesheets and cost information using digital systems to support project controls, productivity tracking and contractual claims

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Relevant Certificate III and IV qualifications (or substantial progress toward completion
• Significant experience delivering civil infrastructure construction projects with structures experience
• Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills, including delivering engaging pre-starts and toolbox talks
• Understanding of WHS, environmental requirements, client specifications and ITP compliance
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and logic‑linked construction programs and assist with detailed programming
• Competent in managing budgets, supporting engineering forecasts, selecting appropriate plant and using Microsoft Office
