Job summary

Glen Eira City Council seeks a Subdivision Engineer to maintain public infrastructure, assess applications, certify plans, and manage development bonds and agreements. You will inspect works and provide engineering advice across the development lifecycle to residents, developers, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree, is eligible for Institute of Engineers membership, and has strong knowledge of relevant acts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and eligibility for Institute of Engineers membership.
• Solid knowledge of Subdivision Act 1988, Planning and Environment Act 1987, and Road Management Act 2004.
• Confident using GIS systems, Microsoft Windows, and Pathway.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in local government or statutory authority.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A Victorian Driver's Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assess subdivision applications and certify plans.
• Inspect construction works and provide engineering advice.
• Manage development bonds and agreements.
• Respond to enquiries and provide technical advice to residents and developers.
• Liaise with utility providers for works in Council Road reserves.
• Review stormwater drainage and water quality assessments.
• Ensure compliance with permits and council standards.
