Job summary

Ascendance Academy is a Sydney-based dance and circus education studio seeking a studio manager who acts as a leader, mentor, and role model. You will own daily operations, drive enrolments, and nurture staff and student growth in a supportive environment.

You will teach across ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop, while expanding skills into acro, circus, and our preschool program with full training provided. Join a culture built on positivity and care.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or mentoring a team.
• Strong communication with children, parents and colleagues.
• Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Minimum 5 years' experience teaching dance.
• Proficiency in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of the studio day-to-day for students and families.
• Own day-to-day operations: admin, scheduling, enrolments, and family communications.
• Track studio KPIs — membership growth, retention, and enrolment targets.
• Contribute to events including concerts, open days, and school holiday programs.
• Run daily team meetings and lead the junior leadership program.

Job description

We're looking for an exceptional studio manager to become the heartbeat of Ascendance Academy — someone who shows up every day as a leader, a mentor, and a role model.

This is not a role for someone who simply wants to show up and teach. We need someone who takes ownership, works with initiative, and genuinely cares about helping our students and studio thrive.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Be the face of the studio day-to-day — the first warm presence students and families encounter
• Own day-to-day operations: admin, scheduling, enrolments, and family communications
• Track and drive studio KPIs — membership growth, retention, and enrolment targets
• Contribute to events including concerts, open days, and school holiday programs
• Run daily team meetings — set the tone, answer questions, keep everyone on track
• Lead and develop our junior leadership program, mentoring the next generation of teachers
• Be the go-to person for our teaching staff — supportive, steady, and solutions-focused
• Set the standard for professionalism, preparation, and care

Teaching

• Deliver classes across ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, and hip hop
• Teach students from preschool age (3+) through to year 12
• Expand your skills into acro, circus, and our preschool program with full training provided

ESSENTIAL

• Experience leading or mentoring a team

• Experience in studio administration/operations
