Job summary

Nova City Ballet Pty Ltd seeks an experienced Business Manager to lead day-to-day operations of its dance school. You will partner with the CEO to oversee people, administration, accounts, pricing, marketing and performance, ensuring a safe, welcoming, child-focused environment.

You will supervise 9 direct reports, drive efficiency, profitability and customer service, and prepare monthly reports. A strong commercial mindset and leadership presence are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business management or similar leadership role.

• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.

• Strong commercial and financial awareness including pricing and performance.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Business Manager to lead the day-to-day business operations of our dance school. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the studio operates efficiently, sustainably and to a high professional standard. Working closely with the CEO/Co-Founder, you will oversee people, administration, accounts, pricing, marketing and operational performance, while ensuring our studio remains a safe, welcoming and child-focused environment. You will be the central escalation point for operational matters and will play an important role in supporting our teaching team and administration staff to deliver an exceptional experience for students and families.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the dance school
• Ensure business systems, processes and procedures are efficient, consistent and fit for purpose
• Act as the key escalation point for operational, staff, parent and student matters
• Lead, support and develop a team of 9 direct reports
• Provide clear direction, accountability and performance management
• Foster a positive, professional and collaborative workplace culture
• Review the teaching schedule regularly to ensure it meets student needs while supporting the financial sustainability of the school
• Oversee and review pricing structures in consultation with the CEO/Founders
• Supervise the administration function and ensure high standards of customer service
• Prepare and present monthly operational reports to the CEO/Founders

About you

• Proven experience in business management, operations or a similar leadership role
• Strong people leadership and team management experience
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills
• Experience managing and developing direct reports
• Strong commercial and financial awareness, including experience with pricing and operational performance
• The ability to analyse schedules, staffing and resources and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
• Confidence acting as an escalation point and making sound, timely decisions
• Experience working within or developing child safe workplace practices
• Valid Working with Children Check
