Job summary

Ballet Eternel is seeking an energetic ballet instructor to join our adult program across Mornington and Frankston. You will teach adults with a love for ballet, helping them improve technique, musicality, and confidence in a supportive studio environment.

The role is contractor-based (ABN) with scheduled shifts and a 90-minute class format, plus brief studio/admin time. Opportunities may include repertoire work, coaching, and occasional choreography; a warm, encouraging teaching style is

Responsibilities

• Teach shifts on a contractor basis (ABN).
• Lead adult ballet classes as scheduled (e.g., Saturday mornings, Tuesday mornings, Monday evenings).
• Plan and deliver 90-minute classes with 15 minutes of studio/admin duties.
• Incorporate Floor Barre or PBT where relevant.
• Contribute to choreography or repertoire as appropriate.

We’re looking for a talented and personable teacher to join our adult program across Mornington and Frankston as our studio is growing.

This is an opportunity to teach adults who choose ballet because they love it, want to improve, want to challenge themselves and want to experience the joy of dancing.

You’ll have the opportunity to build genuine relationships with your students, watch their confidence and technique develop, and become an important part of their dance journey.

The role

We’re looking for someone to teach shifts on a contractor basis (ABN).

Current opportunities include:

• Saturday mornings — Adult Ballet


• Tuesday mornings - Adult Ballet


• Monday evenings — Neoclassical Ballet


• Potential additional Jazz Ballet classes if this is your area

Floor Barre and/or PBT experience is a bonus.

Each class is 90 minutes, with approximately 15 minutes of studio/admin responsibilities before and after class.

Rates

$50 per hour — Teaching

$30 per hour — Studio/Admin

The kind of teacher we’re looking for

You’re technically strong, but you’re also the teacher who understands that how you make someone feel matters.

You can see a tiny technical issue from across the room — and explain it in a way that makes the dancer think:

“Oh! I understand. I can do that.”

Rather than:

“I’m terrible at ballet.”

You know how to challenge an experienced dancer while giving a nervous beginner the confidence to keep going.

You understand that adult dancers have different bodies, histories, abilities, confidence levels and goals. You can maintain excellent technical standards while respecting the individual person standing at the barre.

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong classical ballet technique


• Experience teaching adult dancers


• Excellent knowledge of alignment, placement, technique and musicality


• A warm, encouraging and inspiring teaching style


• Strong class management and communication skills


• Confidence teaching a range of abilities


• A thoughtful and constructive approach to corrections


• Professionalism, reliability and punctuality


• A willingness to collaborate, receive feedback and work within our syllabus


• A genuine love of ballet and teaching


• Choreography, Jazz Ballet, Floor Barre or PBT experience is a bonus.
