Job summary

Deacon Recruitment is seeking an experienced Design Studio Manager to lead its established Design Studio of Interior Designers and drive the next evolution of its design function.

You will oversee a sizeable team, provide creative direction, and push product development while integrating with sales, procurement and construction teams to stay ahead of trends and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in residential Interior Design.
• Experience leading a studio and managing a team.
• Strong knowledge of residential design trends, products, finishes and customer selections.
• Proven track record mentoring and developing a team.
• Experience working with suppliers and contributing to product development.

Management of a team of Interior Designers

Providing leadership creative direction and product development initiatives

Driving Display home program and special projects

Ensure Design studio remains connected with broader sales, procurement and construction functions

Ensure studio is keeping ahead of design trends and changing customer expectations

About the Successful Candidate

This opportunity will suit an experienced Design Studio Manager / Interior Design Manager ready to take ownership of a sizeable team and established Studio environment.

You will bring a combination of creative capability and strong people leadership, with the commercial and operational understanding to work effectively across multiple areas of a residential building business.

Ideally, you will have:

Minimum 8 years experience in residential Interior Design

Experience working with a major builder and experience in a Studio Manager position

Proven track record leading, mentoring and developing a team

Strong knowledge of residential design trends, products, finishes and customer selections

Experience working with suppliers and contributing to product development

Strong stakeholder management skills across sales, procurement and construction functions

A proactive approach to researching trends and continually evolving a design offering

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

A genuine passion for developing people and creating a positive, connected team culture
