Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment in Sydney is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead workplace and commercial interiors from concept to delivery with genuine project ownership and strong client exposure.

You will mentor junior designers, coordinate documentation, and ensure design intent, budget and programme are maintained while embedding sustainable design principles across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Interior Design or Architecture.
• 8+ years’ experience in workplace or commercial interiors.
• Proven leadership and client-facing experience.
• Strong concepts and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead workplace and commercial projects from briefing to completion.
• Develop design concepts aligned with client objectives.
• Present design proposals and build client relationships.
• Coordinate documentation, consultants and project teams.

A leading Sydney design studio is looking for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join its collaborative team, working across high-quality workplace and commercial interiors.
This is a senior role offering genuine project ownership, client exposure and the opportunity to influence design direction from concept through to delivery.

The Role

• Lead workplace and commercial projects from briefing through to completion
• Develop strong design concepts and narratives aligned with client objectives
• Build trusted client relationships and confidently present design proposals
• Coordinate documentation, consultants and project teams
• Ensure design intent, budget and programme are maintained
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to the wider studio
• Embed sustainable and safe design principles into projects

About You

• Degree qualified in Interior Design, Architecture or a related discipline
• 8+ years’ experience, ideally across workplace, commercial interiors or fit-out
• Proven project leadership and client-facing experience
• Strong conceptual and presentation skills
• Proficient in Revitand Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong technical documentation and visualisation skills
• Experience mentoring junior designers
• Green Star or sustainability experience is advantageous
