Job summary

CommBank is seeking a Senior Manager Regulatory Engagement to lead regulatory interactions for RBS Compliance in Australia. You will shape the engagement strategy, coordinate cross-functional responses, and provide practical advice to senior management on regulatory expectations across ASIC, AFCA, and others.

You will draft regulator communications, briefings, and committee packs, while guiding remediation activities and maintaining alignment with customer interests and Group standards.

Qualifications

• Regulatory engagement, regulatory affairs experience in banking or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of Australian financial services regulation; experience preparing submissions for regulators.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation across Legal, Risk, Compliance, Product and operations.
• Advanced written and verbal communication; ability to synthesize complex information and offer practical recommendations.
• Strong project management; able to handle multiple sensitive matters with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of regulatory engagement strategy, including intelligence and strategic advice to senior management.
• Lead and support complex regulatory engagements across ASIC, AFCA, AFSA, BCCC, ACCC and other bodies; manage information requests and submissions.
• Coordinate cross-functional responses across RBS, other Business Units and Group functions within regulatory timeframes.
• Review and validate documents, data and input to ensure accuracy and alignment with regulatory expectations.
• Provide practical regulatory compliance advice aligned with RBS strategy, products and customer impacts.
• Prepare regulator correspondence, executive briefings, committee papers and engagement packs.
• Identify and mitigate emerging conduct, compliance and regulatory risks; manage multiple sensitive matters with senior stakeholders.
• Support cross-team regulatory forums for coordinated engagement across the Group.
• Draft compliance input for Risk and Compliance Committees and other risk reporting.
• Advocate for customer-focused business solutions.
• Assist stakeholders with remediation activities.
• Contribute to efficient Compliance operations and continuous improvement.
