Job summary

Queensland Ambulance Service is seeking a pragmatic and collaborative leader to head regional HR and Workplace Health and Safety. You will provide expert advice and strategic direction to regional leaders and staff, ensuring workforce capability and safe, compliant operations across the region.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading HR and/or workplace health and safety functions in a large, operational organisation.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary HR management, employee relations and WHS practices.
• Ability to provide clear, balanced advice on complex workforce matters.
• Experience managing investigations, performance issues, grievances and disciplinary processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and management of HR and WHS services to support regional management and staff.
• Provide authoritative advice on complex workforce matters across the employee lifecycle.
• Ensure delivery of efficient, high-quality HR services including recruitment, reporting and performance management.
• Oversee WHS systems and practices to support compliance, assurance and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate investigations and reviews into employee relations matters and develop strategies for resolution.
• Develop workforce capability through coaching, mentoring and training on policies and procedures.
• Build professional relationships across QAS, Queensland Health and external stakeholders.
• Lead statewide HR initiatives and contribute to regional and statewide operations.
