Job summary

UNSW is seeking a Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of IT initiatives within the Education Domain. You will translate objectives into practical plans, establish cross-functional teams, and implement governance, financial, risk and quality controls to keep delivery on scope, budget, and timeline.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing end-to-end IT projects or strategic initiatives.
• In-depth understanding of the project lifecycle and methodologies PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile or other recognised PM methodologies.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders across a large organisation.
• Demonstrated success coordinating cross-functional teams including business, technical and delivery groups.
• Strong time management, prioritisation, and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage key project components across budget, risk, resources, change and quality from idea through post-implementation review.
• Develop and maintain practical project plans, milestones and delivery arrangements to keep teams aligned to scope and budget.
• Manage project dependencies, risks, issues and financials with proper controls and escalation paths.
• Align projects to UNSW governance pathways and apply consistent decision-making and reporting rules.
• Lead communication with internal and external stakeholders to support timely decisions and alignment.
• Coordinate IT staff and university teams to deliver customer-centric projects on time and within scope.
• Coordinate vendor communications with Procurement, Legal and commercial teams for outcomes.
• Facilitate stakeholders' inputs to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
