Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Officer to craft compelling stories and lead internal communication initiatives nationwide. You will drive strategic plans, develop engaging content, and collaborate with senior leaders to inform and inspire staff across the organisation.

The role focuses on digital storytelling, employee engagement, and channel optimisation to ensure messages align with our mission and values.

Qualifications

Qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Content, Community Engagement or related discipline.
Proven experience developing and delivering strategic communication plans and campaigns.
Experience partnering with senior leaders and stakeholders to influence outcomes.
Experience in complex, geographically dispersed organisations with diverse audiences.
Experience managing digital communication platforms (SharePoint, Teams).

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver strategic internal communication plans aligned with organisational priorities.
Provide expert communication guidance to leaders, stakeholders and project teams.
Create clear, engaging content translating complex information into messages.
Lead development of written, visual and multimedia content including leadership communications and internal campaigns.
Manage and optimise internal channels to ensure content is relevant and accessible.
Drive employee engagement through storytelling that highlights people and achievements.
Support major projects with communication strategies to build understanding and adoption.
Monitor effectiveness and analyse engagement to improve channels and reach.
Mentor team members and share best practices.
