Job summary

Mission Australia in Sydney seeks a Senior Internal Communications Officer to craft compelling stories, lead campaigns and connect our people nationally. You will help shape how we inform and inspire staff across the organisation.

You will develop strategic internal communications plans, advise leaders, and manage channels, building engagement and ensuring messages are accessible to a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

• Qualified in communications, journalism, PR or digital content, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience delivering strategic communication plans, campaigns and engagement initiatives.
• Experience partnering with senior leaders to influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver strategic internal communication plans aligned to organisational priorities.
• Provide expert communication guidance to leaders and project teams across the organisation.
• Create clear, engaging content translating complex information into meaningful messages.
• Lead high-quality written, visual and multimedia content including leadership communications and internal campaigns.
• Manage and optimise internal communication channels to ensure content is relevant and accessible.
• Drive employee engagement through storytelling that celebrates people and achievements.
• Support major projects with communication strategies to build understanding and adoption.
• Monitor effectiveness, analyse engagement insights and recommend improvements.
• Mentor and support team members with knowledge sharing and best practices.
