Job summary

DMU Consulting's client, a growing commercial construction subcontractor in Sydney, seeks a driven Business Development Executive to own an established pipeline and convert opportunities into projects.

You will engage with builders, PMs, estimators and site teams, qualify enquiries, and hand over secured work to Operations, with direct access to senior leadership and a clear path to growth.

Qualifications

• Understanding of how builders procure subcontract packages.
• Confidence dealing with project teams and decision-makers.
• Ability to read drawings and walk construction sites.
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Proactive approach to calls, meetings and follow-ups.
• A current driver's licence.
• Experience in commercial carpentry, modular, demountables, site setup, building products or specialist subcontracting would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Identify upcoming commercial projects and opportunities.
• Build relationships with PMs, CAs, Estimators and Construction Managers.
• Follow up quotes, tenders and open opportunities.
• Chasing awarded projects and attend client meetings and site inspections.
• Qualify new enquiries before they reach estimating.
• Negotiate and help close opportunities.
• Keep the CRM and sales pipeline up to date.
• Support the handover of secured projects to Operations.
