Icon Water in Canberra is seeking a creative Copywriting and Content Officer to turn complex ideas into clear, engaging content for the Canberra community. You will develop accurate, audience-focused copy for websites, social media, newsletters and campaigns.

As part of the role, you’ll work with subject matter experts to translate technical information into plain English and tailor messages for different audiences and channels.

Qualifications

• Proven copywriting and editing skills with strong grammar, structure, tone and plain English.
• Experience writing for digital platforms and different audiences, supported by a portfolio or examples of published work.
• The ability to translate complex or technical information into concise, accurate and accessible copy.
• An eye for design and basic multimedia skills are useful.

Responsabilités

• Write and edit clear, engaging and accurate copy for web, social media, newsletters, education materials, campaigns, events, and internal and external communications
• Turn technical or complex information into plain-English content that is easy to understand and useful to its audience
• Support the development of campaign concepts and copy, including headlines, key messages, scripts, calls to action and supporting content
• Draft, proofread, schedule and publish content across digital channels
• Learn and use our CMS and internal platforms
• Work closely with subject matter experts to gather information, check facts and shape accurate, meaningful messages
• Coordinate your work to meet deadlines and keep stakeholders informed
• Apply our brand and style guidelines consistently across everything you produce
• Occasionally support after-hours communications, events and media-related activities.
