Job summary

Icon Water, Canberra’s essential water and wastewater provider, is seeking a Manager Community Engagement to lead the team shaping how we engage with customers, communities and stakeholders.

You will partner with leaders to deliver a contemporary engagement approach, advising on stakeholder management, sentiment and reputation, across major projects and outreach initiatives. This role requires a collaborative, influences-driven leader committed to public service and community outcomes.

Qualifications

• Expertise in community engagement or stakeholder engagement.
• Experience designing engagement programs and governance.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability.
• Experience leading engagement for major projects or programmes.
• Understanding of community sentiment and reputational risk.
• Proven leadership of professional teams.
• Qualifications in communications or related field.
• IAP2 or equivalent engagement certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team shaping how we engage with customers, communities and stakeholders across Canberra.
• Provide strategic advice on stakeholder management, community sentiment and reputation.
• Drive engagement across major infrastructure programs and community education initiatives.
• Partner with leaders to implement consistent engagement practices and governance.
