Job summary

Oscar Wylee is seeking a Store Manager for our Mount Barker store to lead a team, drive performance, and oversee daily retail operations. You will collaborate with Optometrists and Dispensers to blend professional eye care with eyewear styling advice, delivering exceptional customer experiences.

This is a new Oscar Wylee store opening in October, offering a base salary up to $70,000 plus superannuation and a clear path for career growth within a growing brand.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience in retail.
• Experience supporting rosters, labour planning, or store performance.
• A passion for delivering great customer experiences.
• A keen interest in developing decision‑making, coaching, and team culture.
• No optical experience required – we’ll teach you all there is to know about optical retail.

As Store Manager for Oscar Wylee in Mount Baker, your role will be to lead and inspire your team to deliver remarkable results and oversee day-to-day store operations.

You will work closely with our Optometrists and Optical Dispensers to ensure customers receive a blend of professional eye care and eyewear styling advice. Leading your team, you will strive to uphold exceptional customer service and care to everyone who visits your store.

This is a new OW store opening in October.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee store operations, compliance, and performance standards
• Support your team to reach performance goals through genuine customer care, not pushy sales tactics.
• Manage rosters, budgets, and labour efficiency
• Provide hands-on support in-store, assisting with sales, service, and patient care
• Partner with Optometrists to ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience

About You:

• Previous leadership experience in retail (title isn’t important - if you’ve coached people and driven results, we want to hear from you!)
• Experience supporting or contributing to rosters, labour planning, or store performance - we’ll help you grow your capability in these areas.
• A passion for delivering great customer experiences
• A keen interest in developing your skills in decision‑making, coaching, and team culture
• No optical experience required - we’ll teach you all there is to know about optical retail. Some of our best store leaders joined from outside the industry!

Earnings: A base salary up to $70,000 plus superannuation.
