Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Software Engineer for the Linux kernel within the Platform Core team. You will shape the OS and drivers powering the Starlink supercomputer network, pushing AI frontier readiness on cutting-edge hardware.

Responsibilities include building a lean Linux-based OS, crafting high-performance device drivers, and driving deployment, diagnostics, and tooling improvements in production across hardware teams and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software experience.
• Hands-on system programming in C or C++.
• Knowledge of Linux kernel networking or another production kernel.
• Experience debugging kernel, network, and userspace components.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a lean Linux-based OS for the supercomputer network fabric.
• Write or rewrite high-performance device drivers to maximize hardware capability.
• Deploy, operate, and debug the platform in production, improve observability and configuration tools.
