Job summary

UpGuard is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction across Product Engineering. Stay hands-on while guiding architecture across squads, tackling 100B risk signals daily, and raising the bar on quality and process. You’ll work with Go services, Postgres, Kubernetes, and agentic AI tools.

Qualifications

Typically 8+ years of relevant engineering experience at tech-centric, product-driven companies.
Strong TypeScript and React experience with a backend language (Go).
Solid relational database skills (Postgres) and orchestration with Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform.
Experience using AI coding tools and the ability to review and own what they produce.
Proven track record setting technical direction across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

Stay hands-on: ship features in a squad, grounded in code and customer needs.
Set cross-team technical direction and own architecture decisions spanning squads.
Lead scaling and data challenges toward 100 billion risk signals daily.
Raise engineering standards through reviews, mentoring, and best practices.
Shape the roadmap with engineering and product leadership; influence what to build.
