Job summary
UpGuard is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction across Product Engineering. You will stay hands-on in the code while guiding architecture and scaling decisions, working with leadership on the platform’s next phase.
You’ll join one of our product squads, combining frontend (React/TypeScript) with Go services and Postgres, deployed on Kubernetes in GCP. You’ll influence the roadmap, mentor engineers, and help define how we automate and test, shaping a scalable security risk
Qualifications
- 8+ years of engineering experience at tech-centric, product-driven companies.
- Strong TypeScript and React experience.
- Backend development in Go.
- Solid PostgreSQL skills.
- Experience with AI coding tools as part of a workflow.
- Ability to set technical direction across multiple teams.
- Proven track record in architecture decisions and scaling.
Responsibilities
- Stay hands-on while defining technical direction across squads.
- Own architecture decisions spanning teams and components.
- Lead scaling and data challenges as the platform grows.
- Raise engineering standards through reviews and mentoring.
- Shape the roadmap with engineering and product leadership.
