Job summary

UpGuard is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own a feature area within our Product Engineering team in Brisbane. You’ll shape technical design, mentor peers, and drive end-to-end delivery for customers who rely on our cyber risk platform.

The role fits into one of our squads with PMs and designers and uses React/TypeScript on the frontend, Go services with Postgres, and Kubernetes on Google Cloud. Apply ideas to code, tests, reviews, and production operations from day one.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience at tech-centric, product-driven companies.
• Strong TypeScript and React capabilities.
• Backend work in Go and solid Postgres skills.
• Experience with AI coding tools and cloud-native deployments.

Responsibilities

• Own a feature area end to end from design to production and follow-up.
• Lead technical design and drive architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with product and design to shape scope and priorities.
• Mentor engineers and improve squad code quality and decisions.
• Improve reliability, scalability, and performance of owned systems.
• Apply cybersecurity domain understanding to product development.
