Job summary

UpGuard is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to define technical direction across Product Engineering. You will stay hands-on, shape architecture, and collaborate with leadership on the platform's next direction.

You will join one of our squads and help raise the bar across the organization. You will work with TypeScript/React on the frontend and Go with PostgreSQL on the backend, running on Kubernetes in Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience at tech-driven companies.
• Strong TypeScript and React capabilities.
• Proficient in a backend language (Go) and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams and architectures.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools and evaluating outputs.

Responsibilities

• Define technical direction across product engineering and drive architecture decisions.
• Stay hands-on while shaping platform growth and scaling strategies.
• Lead hardest data and scaling challenges as demand grows.
• Mentor engineers and raise the engineering bar through standards and reviews.
• Collaborate with product leadership to shape the roadmap and priorities.
