Job summary

UpGuard is hiring a Software Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. You’ll work across the stack with React and TypeScript on the front end, Go services on the back end, and PostgreSQL as our primary database, all running on Kubernetes via Google Cloud Platform.

You’ll collaborate with a senior engineer, own end-to-end features, and continuously improve security, reliability, and performance as the team grows. Remote-ready, flexible setup, and AI-assisted development are core to the role.

Qualifications

• Typically 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript and React.
• A backend language you’re productive in (we use Go).
• Solid relational database skills (we use Postgres).
• AI coding tools as your default workflow, and the judgment to review and own what they produce.
• Pragmatic trade-offs: you weigh technical quality against what the business needs now.
• Low ego, high care: you’re in it for the product and the customer, not just the code.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer-facing features across our React front end and Go services.
• Own well-scoped work end to end, with senior engineers to pair with and review your designs.
• Help keep the platform fast and reliable as we scale.
• Give and receive thoughtful code review and join the technical discussions that shape how we build.
• Go deep on the cybersecurity domain; it's one of the best parts of the job.
• Grow toward senior, with increasing scope as you’re ready and a manager focused on getting you there.
