Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of modern data solutions for Home Buying. You will shape architecture, uplift engineering capability and influence critical technology decisions, building with Big Data AWS, Snowflake and dbt.

You will mentor engineers, drive production data products, and contribute to governance, testing and deployment across the data domain.

Qualifications

Hands-on data engineering leadership with strong judgement.
Experience with AWS data services and Snowflake in production.
Ability to mentor engineers and lead multi-team initiatives.
Experience designing scalable data pipelines and governance.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test and deploy scalable data solutions across the full development lifecycle.
Lead engineering initiatives and coordinate delivery across data, platform, operations and observability teams.
Review designs and architectures, guiding implementation to standards and cost control.
Mentor engineers and uplift data engineering capabilities.
Develop reliable data pipelines that are secure and production-ready.
Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions.
