Job summary

Kinetic IT is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to join our onsite team delivering managed ICT services to a Federal Government customer. You will manage and optimise SQL Server environments, ensuring performance, availability and security.

The role is full-time and onsite, with an on-call roster that may include occasional weekend work. Key responsibilities include administering databases, backups and restorations, performance tuning, and implementing security controls while ensuring

Qualifications

• Active AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance required for work with our Federal Government customer.
• Proven SQL experience and SQL Server administration tasks.
• Experience designing maintenance plans and SQL jobs.
• Strong performance tuning and optimisation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and optimise SQL Server databases.
• Perform regular database backups, restorations and recovery activities.
• Monitor and tune database performance.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance issues and bottlenecks.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine DBA tasks.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Ensure databases comply with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to and resolve database-related issues.
