Job summary

Pacific Ag Pty Ltd in Barooga, NSW, is seeking a competent Spraying Operator to join our export focused farming business growing potatoes, garlic and beetroot. You will operate precision spraying equipment, tractors and harvesters, contributing to spraying, seeding, fertilising and harvest activities.

Ideal candidates hold a Cert II or Cert III, or have at least two years of relevant experience, and can demonstrate experience with spray equipment, PPE and basic maintenance.

Qualifications

• Cert II or Cert III in a relevant agriculture field.
• At least one year of relevant spraying experience, or 2 years full-time in a similar field.
• Experience operating spray application equipment and appropriate PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Operate precision spraying equipment, tractors, harvesters and general farm machinery.
• Contribute to spraying, seeding, planting, fertilising and harvest activities as required.
• Complete daily machinery checks, minor servicing and accurate records.

Job description

Pacific Ag is looking for a competent Spraying Operator to join our large-scale, export focussed potato, garlic and beetroot farming business.

We are a highly professional farming business with a focus on export potatoes as well as domestic garlic and beetroot supply, with rotational winter cereals and a modern beef feedlot operation.

Our fully irrigated farms, across 1,200Ha consists of 35 centre pivot irrigators in the Berrigan / Barooga region. You will work with modern machinery and technology (JD self-propelled, JD Ops Centre, AgWorld) and your contribution will be integral to the successful production across all crops produced.

What you will be doing

Operate precision spraying equipment, as well as tractors, harvesters and general farm

machinery.

Your primary activity will be to undertake spraying activities, and you will also contribute to

seeding, planting, fertilising and harvest activities as and when required.

Complete daily machinery checks, minor servicing and accurate records.

Assist with general farm duties and follow all WHS procedures.

About you

A relevant Cert II or Cert III, plus at least one year of relevant experience, or alternatively at least

2 years full time work experience in a similar field.

Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining spray application equipment, mixing and

other associated equipment and appropriate use of PPE.

Current driver's licence and the ability to drive manual.

ChemCert and Forklift qualifications (preferred), or prepared to obtain.

Experience operating modern broadacre or horticultural machinery.

Mechanical aptitude, servicing and maintenance skills and ability to troubleshoot minor issues.

Demonstrated ability to work in a small, collaborative and capable team.

Strong communication, reliability and attention to detail.
