Job summary

Leppington Speedy Seedlings & Supplies Pty Ltd – Yerrinbool NSW is seeking a hands-on farm operations lead in the horticultural sector with an attractive salary. You will manage day-to-day farming tasks, including planting, spraying and harvesting, and coordinate all planting and harvesting activities.

You will also handle irrigation and paddock preparation, along with the upkeep of equipment and facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in agriculture or horticulture.
• Forklift license or willing to obtain.
• MR license or willing to obtain.
• Chemcert certificate or willing to obtain.
• Tractor experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day farming operations including planting, spraying, and harvesting.
• Coordinate planting and harvesting activities.
• Manage irrigation and paddock preparation.
• Maintain farm equipment, infrastructure and facilities.
• Oversee harvesting, post-harvest handling, packaging and dispatch.
• Supervise a small team.
• Operate agri-machinery as needed.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are implemented.
• Deliver produce to markets when required.

An exciting opportunity with an ATTRACTIVE SALARY in the HORTICULTURUAL / AGRICULTURAL sector.

Primary Duties:

• Managing the day-to-day farming operations (planting, spraying, harvesting)
• Co-ordinating and carrying out all planting and harvesting activities
• Manage irrigation and paddock preparation
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all farm equipment, infrastructure, and facilities
• Oversee harvesting, post-harvest handling, packaging and dispatch of produce (ready for markets)
• Supervise a small team
• Ability to understand and operate various types of agri-machinery
• Coordinate the implementation of occupational health and safety requirements
• Deliver product to markets (when required)

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Experience in agriculture / horticulture.
• Forklift license (prefered or willing to obtain)
• Minimum MR License (prefered or willing to obtain)
• Chemcert Certificate (prefered or willing to obtain)
• Tractor Experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
