Job summary

Austek Roads (ACT) is seeking a casual Spray Seal Labourer to join our team in Hume, ACT. You will assist with bitumen spray sealing operations and support the crew to ensure timely, safe delivery of works.

Ideal candidates have a current driver's licence, white card, and silica/asbestos awareness. Experience in roadworks and operation of spray equipment is preferred; strong teamwork and safety commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• Current driver's licence and ability to obtain necessary construction certifications.
• White card
• Silica and Asbestos awareness training
• Demonstrated experience in Roadworks, desired
• Proficient in the operation and maintenance of bitumen spraying equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve consistent, quality results
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the construction crew
• Commitment to workplace health and safety

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and completion of bitumen spray sealing operations
• Operate and maintain spray sealing equipment as required
• Set out and retrieve traffic control signs, cones, and equipment
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Support the spray truck and aggregate spreading crews
• Follow directions from crew leader, site foreperson, project manager and other senior managers
• Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

What you’ll be doing

• Assist with the preparation and completion of bitumen spray sealing operations
• Safe labouring duties may include but not limited to shovelling and raking, running wheelbarrow, safely positioning and unloading trucks for spray seal operations
• Set out and retrieve traffic control signs, cones, and equipment as required.
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Support the spray truck and aggregate spreading crews.
• Follow direction of Crew leader, site foreperson, project manager and other senior managers
• Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
