Job summary

Austek Roads (ACT) is seeking a casual Spray Seal Labourer to join our team in Hume, ACT. You will assist with preparation and completion of bitumen spray sealing projects with the crew.

Qualifications

• Current driver's licence and ability to obtain necessary construction certifications.
• White card is required.
• Silica and asbestos awareness training is required.
• Demonstrated experience in roadworks is desirable.
• Proficient in operation and maintenance of bitumen spraying equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Good communication and teamwork with the construction crew.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and completion of bitumen spray sealing operations.
• Perform safe labouring duties including shovelling, raking, and wheelbarrow work.
• Set out and retrieve traffic control signs, cones and equipment.
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment and work areas.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment.
• Support spray truck and aggregate spreading crews.
• Follow directions from crew leader and site management.
• Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies.

What you'll be doing

• Assist with the preparation and completion of bitumen spray sealing operations
• Safe labouring duties may include but not limited to shovelling and raking, running wheelbarrow, safely positioning and unloading trucks for spray seal operations
• Set out and retrieve traffic control signs, cones, and equipment as required.
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Support the spray truck and aggregate spreading crews.
• Follow direction of Crew leader, site foreperson, project manager and other senior managers
• Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Current driver's licence and ability to obtain necessary construction certifications

• Demonstrated experience in Roadworks, desired
• Proficient in the operation and maintenance of bitumen spraying equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve consistent, quality results
