Job summary

Electro Optic Systems (EOS Space Systems) is a laser and electro-optics technology developer working on high-energy laser systems and ground-to-space applications. We seek a Laser Scientist or Engineer to design, assemble, align, test and maintain laser subsystems within a dynamic R&D team.

The role involves writing technical documentation, reporting, and collaborating with electronics, software and mechanical teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in physics/engineering or a related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience with bulk solid-state and/or laser systems.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

Assist with development of new laser subsystems for ground-to-space applications.
Handle laser design, component specification, assembly, alignment and optimisation.
Collaborate with electronics, software and mechanical teams to define system requirements.
Contribute to instrumentation of opto-electronics subsystems and EOS IP.
Document investigative experiments and report progress to discipline managers and VPs.
Support knowledge improvement and capability development within the group.
