Job summary

EOS Space Systems is a laser and electro‑optics technology developer providing advanced space domain awareness systems and observatories. The Laser Scientist/Engineer will design, assemble, align, test and maintain high-energy laser subsystems while documenting results for leadership and customers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in physics or engineering, 2+ years’ laser experience, and the ability to obtain an Australian government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physics/engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with bulk solid-state and/or laser systems.
• Experience aligning and operating Class 4 lasers (pulsed and CW).
• Strong documentation and communication skills essential.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain Australian Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop laser subsystems for ground-to-space applications, including design and spec definition.
• Assemble, align, and test laser components and subsystems.
• Document experiments and report progress to discipline manager and VPs.
• Collaborate with electronics, software, and mechanical teams to meet system requirements.
