Job summary

EOS is a world leader in designing, developing and building advanced technology products and services for the global defence and space domains. This role focuses on designing electrical power architecture for containerised and vehicle-mounted laser systems, handling energy storage, conversion, distribution and protection.

You will lead safety, EMC, and fault-finding activities, with hands-on commissioning in the field and at test ranges. Travel to test sites is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
• 4+ years designing power electronics or electrical systems.
• Experience with high current DC systems and power conversion.
• Experience integrating battery energy storage and BMS.
• Schematic capture and PCB design in Altium Designer.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS wiring and electrical safety standards; EMC practices.
• Hands-on commissioning and fault-finding with oscilloscopes and meters.
• Willingness to travel to test ranges and trial sites.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical power architecture for containerised and vehicle-laser systems.
• Size DC distribution, protection devices, cabling for high transient loads.
• Design and integrate battery energy storage systems and BMS safety.
• Design control/instrumentation electronics; PCB design in Altium Designer.
• Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, and load schedules to AS 1102/1100.
• Lead electrical safety, earthing and bonding per AS/NZS 3000; support EMC testing.
• Support integration, commissioning, fault-finding on-site at range and sites.
• Maintain electrical design docs and test evidence within EOS framework.
