Job summary

The Millhouse Restaurant at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown is seeking a Sous Chef to help shape a brand-new concept and kitchen. This role is based at a luxury resort with a program aimed at Michelin-star ambitions, providing a unique platform to contribute ideas and energy alongside the Head Chef.

You will play a key role in delivering exceptional food using local ingredients, with a strong focus on quality, teamwork and leadership in a refurbishment phase.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a comparable environment.
• Relevant culinary qualifications.
• Ambitious, creative and excited by the opportunity to help shape a restaurant.
• Reliable ‘go getter’ with motivation, drive and initiative.
• Passion for quality and strong knowledge of food safety.
• Desire and passion to cook with fresh, quality ingredients sourced from local producers.
• Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills.
• Strong commitment to teamwork with a hands-on approach.
• Ability to work weekends and public holidays.
• Driver's Licence advantageous, as you must be able to make your way to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Shape what Millhouse becomes, from the new kitchen and food offering to the overall concept and ways of working.
