Job summary

Arthur, an Australian restaurant in Surry Hills, seeks a Sous Chef to join a small, ambitious team. You will work directly with the Head Chef, developing the menu and running the kitchen daily, mentoring junior chefs and helping shape the restaurant’s direction with your ideas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie role.
• Strong interest in Australian produce and seasonal cooking.
• Confident leading a kitchen team through service.
• Proactive and intuitive chef with attention to detail.
• Comfortable training and mentoring junior chefs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine the menu in collaboration with Head Chef.
• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and service quality.
• Mentor and lead junior chefs and frontline staff.
• Collaborate across the kitchen to maintain high standards of food and environment.
