City of Gold Coast is seeking innovative Solution Designers to join the ICT team. You will provide expert advice on solution design, lead technical designs, and ensure alignment with reference solutions and enterprise standards.
The role may focus on cross-platform initiatives, governance and operational readiness, coordinating input across teams and vendors to deliver fit-for-purpose technology outcomes for the community.
We are excited to offer opportunities for some innovative and delivery-focused Solution Designers to join the City of Gold Coast.
Reporting to the Coordinator Solution Architecture, you will provide expert advice on solution design best practice and lead technical designs that align with reference solutions, enterprise architecture principles and the City’s enterprise standards. You will develop clear, implementable designs and system specifications that support the successful delivery, transition and operation of ICT solutions across the organisation.
Depending on organisational priorities, you may be aligned to one of several activity streams. This could include leading cross-platform initiatives under the IT Operating Model, or contributing to complex ICT portfolio initiatives that require strong governance, technical alignment and operational readiness, coordinating the technical implementation of underpinning foundation architecture to support the ongoing management of City’s desktop, mobility and server fleet, and AI solution implementations. Across each stream, your focus will be on ensuring solutions are well defined, practical, compliant, and sustainable in service.
You will work closely with project teams, technical specialists, delivery partners, vendors and stakeholders across the Chief Technology Office and the broader City. You will coordinate technical input, manage design dependencies, support transition to operations, and help uplift consistent technical solution architecture patterns and practices that improve the way technology is delivered across the organisation.
This is a highly collaborative role suited to someone who can translate business needs into clear technical outcomes, balance design quality with delivery realities, and bring people together to solve complex problems. Your contribution will help ensure technology solutions are fit-for-purpose, aligned to enterprise standards, and capable of supporting services that enhance the Gold Coast way of life.
We’re looking for people who have:

Ideally, you will also hold a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Project Management or a related discipline, or bring equivalent knowledge and relevant experience.
