Job summary

Mornington Peninsula Shire is recruiting for a pivotal role within Community Spaces and Recreation, focusing on the development of evidence-based solutions for community facilities. About the Role

Working within Community Spaces and Recreation, you’ll support implementation of Council’s Community Facilities Infrastructure Strategy, using research, data and community insights to develop practical, evidence-based solutions.

Reporting to the Coordinator - Community Infrastructure Planning the core responsibilities include:

• Undertake social research, demographic analysis and community needs assessments.
• Identify emerging needs, service gaps, barriers and opportunities.
• Develop clear reports, briefs and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Work with internal teams, community groups and service providers to improve community facilities and services.
• Plan and deliver meaningful engagement and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve accessibility, utilisation, shared use and long-term value of community facilities.

About You

You’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification and at least five years’ experience in social planning, social research, community needs analysis or service planning.

You’ll be a strong communicator and analytical thinker, with the ability to turn complex data and community insights into clear, practical advice. Experience working collaboratively across a complex organisation, particularly local government, will be highly regarded.
