Job summary

Mornington Peninsula Shire seeks a Circular Economy & Waste Strategy Coordinator to drive future kerbside reforms and shape waste and resource recovery services. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will lead strategy development, policy actions and staff capability to meet community, environmental and financial goals.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in environmental management or waste management, strong communication, and proven leadership of projects and teams.

Circular Economy & Waste Strategy Coordinator

About the Role

As a Circular Economy & Waste Strategy Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering shaping the future of waste and resource recovery services. Reporting to the Team Leader -Circular Economy and Waste the core responsibilities include:

• Lead the planning and implementation of future kerbside waste reforms to meet community, environmental and financial objectives.
• Develop and maintain long-term waste management strategies, policies and actions plans.
• Provide leadership to staff, develop workforce capability, and support the delivery of both strategic and operational objectives.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, waste management or relevant field, together with demonstrated experience in waste, circular economy, sustainability, or local government service planning.
• Highly developed communication skills with the ability to prepare strategic reports, policies, business cases and presentations.
• Proven experience leading teams, managing projects, influencing change.
