About Us:
Bin X is a premier, rapidly growing waste management and skip bin provider in Greater Melbourne. We pride ourselves on reliability, efficiency, and strong client relationships. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a hands‑on, strategic, and operational‑minded General Operations & Fleet Manager to lead our head office, yard, fleet, and administrative functions.

Role Overview

1. Fleet & Logistics Management: Oversee daily bin scheduling, driver dispatching, and route optimization to maximize fleet utilization and minimize downtime. Manage fleet maintenance schedules, vehicle registration, and CoR (Chain of Responsibility) compliance under NHVR regulations.
2. Yard & Operational Leadership: Drive day‑to‑day operations at the Dandenong South yard, improving bin turnover and sorting efficiency. Ensure strict compliance with VIC EPA regulations, safety standards (OH&S), and site protocols.
3. Team Leadership & Administration: Lead, mentor, and foster a strong culture across office staff (admin/customer service), dispatchers, yard hands, and HR drivers. Streamline office workflows, invoicing procedures, and customer enquiry handling to maintain exceptional service standards.
4. Commercial & Business Growth: Control operational budgets, monitor fuel/maintenance/disposal costs, and optimize profit margins. Build and maintain relationships with key commercial clients, builders, contractors, and waste disposal facilities.
5. Financial Operations & Accounting Liaison: Work closely with the internal/external accounting team to ensure accurate invoicing, timely customer billing, and effective accounts receivable (A/R) management. Monitor and reconcile daily job sheets, tip fees, fuel expenses, and driver records against financial statements to prevent revenue leakage and control operational costs.

About You

• 3+ years of hands‑on operational leadership within the Skip Bin, Waste Management, or Fleet Logistics industry (Essential).
• Proven track record in managing drivers, dispatch systems, and office administrative teams.
• Strong knowledge of VIC EPA rules, NHVR/CoR standards, and workplace safety (OH&S).
• Strong business acumen with a proactive, "roll-up-your-sleeves" leadership style.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced transport environment.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is highly advantageous (to effectively engage with our diverse client base and internal team).
