Job summary

Central Vic Civil Pty Ltd in Ballarat seeks an experienced Site Supervisor to lead daily operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and uphold safety, quality and schedule commitments on civil projects.

You will report to the Project Manager, manage resources, monitor progress and drive continuous improvement while mentoring junior team members and maintaining accurate site records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in civil construction with supervisory duties.
• Experience coordinating crews, plant and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of civil safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Leadership, communication and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily works in line with project schedules.
• Manage labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to maximise productivity.
• Monitor progress, identify delays and resolve site issues.
• Lead pre-starts, toolbox talks and site inductions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Monitor works against drawings, specifications and ITPs.
• Delegate tasks and supervise site crews and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate site diaries, timesheets, permits and project records.
• Report variations, risks, delays and progress to the Project Manager.

Site Supervisor/Foreman - Full Time, Permanent Position

Central Vic Civil | Ballarat, VIC

Central Vic Civil is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in delivering quality civil construction projects.

We're looking for a leader who can take ownership of daily site operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. If you take pride in your work, lead by example and value teamwork, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will oversee day-to-day site operations and lead our site teams. You will be responsible for coordinating resources, maintaining site standards and keeping projects on track.

Site Operations & Delivery

Plan and coordinate daily works in line with project schedules.

Manage labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to maximise productivity.

Monitor progress, identify delays and resolve site issues as they arise.

Safety, Quality & Environment

Lead pre-starts, toolbox talks and site inductions.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Monitor works against construction drawings, specifications and ITPs.

Identify hazards, report incidents and maintain safe work practices.

Team & Subcontractor Management

Delegate tasks and supervise site crews and subcontractors.

Monitor subcontractor performance and quality of work.

Support and mentor Leading Hands and team members, fostering a positive team culture.

Administration & Reporting

Maintain accurate site diaries, timesheets, permits and project records.

Report variations, risks, delays and progress to the Project Manager.

Ensure site documentation and employee records are completed accurately and on time.

About You

You're an organised, practical and reliable leader who can bring a team together, solve problems on site and balance safety, quality, productivity and cost.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Minimum 5 years' experience in civil construction, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.

Demonstrated experience coordinating crews, plant and subcontractors.

Strong knowledge of civil construction safety, environmental and quality requirements.

The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and relevant documentation.

Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

A proactive approach to planning, accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Tickets

Current Construction Induction Card (White Card).

Current First Aid Certificate.

Traffic Management, Confined Space, Trenching and Shoring tickets will be highly regarded.
