Job summary

MJM Recruit has partnered with a reputable, family-owned commercial and industrial builder in South East Queensland. We are seeking an exceptional hands-on Site Manager who can run a construction site, coordinate trades and deliver quality projects.

You will manage day-to-day site operations for projects valued between $5M and $30M, interpret drawings, lead subcontractors, manage safety and programming, and report to an experienced Director who values initiative and accountability.

Qualifications

• Proven Site Management experience within commercial and industrial construction.
• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience delivering projects of similar size and complexity.
• A practical, hands-on approach with strong site leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and work confidently from architectural, structural and construction drawings.
• Take ownership of daily site operations, planning and project delivery.
• Coordinate, supervise and manage subcontractors, trades and site personnel.
• Drive construction programmes, sequencing and critical deadlines.
• Maintain exceptional workmanship, quality standards and attention to detail.
• Identify drawing discrepancies, construction issues and potential delays early.
• Manage site safety, WHS compliance, inspections and documentation.
• Liaise with Project Managers, consultants, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Ensure materials, trades and resources are organised ahead of time.
• Lead from the front, resolve problems and keep projects moving.

MJM Recruit has partnered with a reputable, family-owned commercial and industrial builder with an outstanding industry reputation and a strong pipeline of secured projects across South East Queensland.

We are seeking an exceptional, hands-on Site Manager who knows how to run a construction site, understands the technical detail and takes genuine pride in delivering quality projects.

You are not someone who simply oversees a site from the office. You are out there coordinating trades, solving problems and making sure the job gets done properly.

You will work closely with an experienced Director who values initiative, accountability and people who know their craft. You'll be trusted to take ownership, make decisions and drive your projects forward without micromanagement.

The Opportunity

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of commercial and industrial construction projects valued between $5M and $30M.

From interpreting construction drawings and coordinating subcontractors to managing site programmes, quality and safety, you will be the person ensuring everything comes together on site.

You will know what's happening today, what's required tomorrow and what needs to be organised for the weeks ahead.

About You

Are you a Site Manager who genuinely understands construction, not just construction management.

You know how to read a set of drawings, understand how the building goes together and confidently lead trades to deliver the finished product.

You will bring:

• Proven Site Management experience within commercial and industrial construction

• Strong technical knowledge and exceptional ability to interpret construction drawings

• Experience delivering projects of similar size and complexity

• A practical, hands-on approach with strong site leadership skills

• Excellent construction sequencing, planning and coordination capabilities

• Confidence managing subcontractors, quality, safety and project deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions

• A proactive, organised approach with genuine ownership and accountability

• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering quality work

• Relevant construction qualifications and site management credentials

Experience with Procore or Buildpass will be highly regarded.
