Job summary

TalentWeb is partnering with an established Sydney developer-builder to appoint a driven Site Engineer for its construction team. You will take a hands-on role with greater responsibility than a traditional Site Engineer, coordinating subcontractors, resolving on-site issues and keeping the residential program on track.

Based in Sydney, the role offers exposure to broader project delivery, with opportunities to work closely with Site Managers and Foremen, and to develop towards project

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Engineer on Australian construction projects, ideally within Class 2 residential or mixed-use developments
• Exposure to projects valued at $50m+ would be advantageous, although candidates with strong experience managing complex subcontractor packages will also be considered
• A strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and subcontractor coordination
• Comfortable reading drawings, managing RFIs and resolving technical issues on site
• A proactive, practical approach, with the confidence to take ownership and follow issues through to resolution
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with site teams, consultants and subcontractors
• Ambitious, reliable and looking to develop a long-term career in construction delivery

Responsibilities

• Coordinating day‑to‑day construction activities, subcontractors and trade interfaces
• Managing RFIs, reviewing construction drawings and resolving technical and design queries
• Working closely with Site Managers and Foremen to maintain program, quality and safety standards
• Coordinating inspections, ITPs, QA documentation and the close‑out of outstanding works
• Liaising with consultants, engineers and subcontractors to resolve site issues efficiently
• Monitoring construction progress, identifying potential delays and helping implement practical solutions
• Supporting procurement, material coordination and subcontractor package delivery
• Taking ownership of site issues and contributing to broader project delivery decisions
