Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer to join a growing specialist subcontractor delivering cladding, façade and metalwork across Canberra projects.

You will work with Project Managers, site teams and subcontractors through procurement, coordination and installation, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have construction management or engineering degrees, and strong planning, cost control and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience as a Project Engineer within commercial construction or specialist subcontracting.
• Exposure to cladding, façades, curtain wall, aluminium, or building envelope projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of cladding and façade packages across multiple projects.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and procurement activities.
• Assist with project planning, programming and reporting.
• Monitor project costs, variations and forecasting.
• Coordinate shop drawings, RFIs, and technical documentation.
• Liaise with builders, consultants, architects and site teams.
• Support quality assurance and compliance processes.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

About the role

With a strong reputation in the market and a solid pipeline of secured work, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Project Engineer to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex façade projects.

Working closely with Project Managers, site teams, builders, consultants, and subcontractors, you’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle — from procurement and coordination through to installation and project completion.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating the delivery of cladding and façade packages across multiple projects
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and procurement activities

About You
