Job summary

Hazell Bros is seeking Site Engineers to join our civil construction team on the Gold Coast. You will assist with planning and oversee the construction phases to deliver quality outcomes on site.

You will monitor progress, set up quality controls, manage inspections and records, and ensure compliance with drawings, standards and safety requirements. This role offers on-the-ground learning with structured training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years in civil construction industry.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
• Knowledge of regulatory governance, codes of practice and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers and management.
• Understanding construction sequencing, methodologies and risk management.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to project needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and construction phases of the project.
• Monitor progress and optimize use of labour, plant and equipment.
• Set up project quality controls per project specifications.
• Manage ITPs, inspections and engineering records; ensure compliance with specs and standards.
• Inspect work to verify it matches drawings and regulatory standards.
• Ensure all activities are completed safely and efficiently.
• Perform other duties as reasonably directed.

The ROLE

We are currently looking for a number of Site Engineers to join our team and grow their career with us. Responsibilities include the following:

• Assists with planning and construction phases of the project.
• Monitor progress, andsupport efficient use of labour, plant and equipment.
• Set up project quality controls in accordance with Project Specifications.
• Manage ITPs, inspections and engineering records, and ensure works meet specifications, standards and contractual requirements with minimal rework and NCRs.
• Inspectwork to verify it matches technical drawings, plans, and regulatory standards.
• Ensure that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way.
• Any other duties or tasks as reasonably directed.

About YOU

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years or more relevant experience in civil construction industry.
• Overall understanding of civil engineering principals.
• Good knowledge of regulatory governance, legislative requirements, codes of practice and compliance requirements.
• Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues and management.
• A growing understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies and technical risk management.
• Willingness to learn and ability to adapt to project needs.
