Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking a Site Engineer to support power systems and substation projects in Australia. You will work with Project Manager and site teams to provide practical engineering support and ensure alignment with safety, quality, schedule and commercial requirements.

The role includes design, procurement, subcontractor coordination, cost and forecast reporting, and on-site delivery, with a 10/4 roster and opportunities to grow engineering capability within a major ASX-listed

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering degree with at least 2 years' relevant experience.
• Experience in scheduling, financial management and reporting is required.
• Experience supporting change management and driving quality outcomes in project delivery.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Commitment to Zero Harm and safety systems.

The Opportunity

Join Downer's Utilities business as a Site Engineer supporting the delivery of power systems and substation projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, Program Manager and site teams, you will provide practical engineering support, coordinate delivery activities and help keep projects aligned to safety, quality, schedule and commercial requirements.

This role offers a 10 & 4 roster and the opportunity to build your project engineering capability across design, procurement, subcontractor coordination, cost and forecast reporting, change management and on-site delivery. You will also provide technical advice, maintain strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to continuous improvement across the project.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor of Engineering
• At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience
• Demonstrated capability in scheduling, financial management and reporting
• Experience supporting change management and driving quality outcomes in project delivery
• Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
• Commitment to Zero Harm and working within safety, quality and environmental systems.
• Transmission industry experience is preferred
