Job summary

Downer is seeking a Site Engineer to support delivery of power systems and substation projects in our Energy & Utilities team. You will work with the Project Manager, Program Manager and site teams to provide engineering support, coordinate activities and ensure safety, quality, schedule and commercial alignment.

You will gain exposure to design, procurement, subcontractor coordination, cost and forecast reporting, change management and on-site delivery, while building strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering degree is required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Demonstrated capability in scheduling, financial management and reporting.
• Experience supporting change management and driving quality in project delivery.
• Strong organisation, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication and relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers, subcontractors.
• Commitment to Zero Harm and safety systems.
• Experience in transmission industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical engineering support on power systems and substation projects.

The Opportunity

Join Downer's Utilities business as a Site Engineer supporting the delivery of power systems and substation projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, Program Manager and site teams, you will provide practical engineering support, coordinate delivery activities and help keep projects aligned to safety, quality, schedule and commercial requirements.

This role offers a 10 & 4 roster and the opportunity to build your project engineering capability across design, procurement, subcontractor coordination, cost and forecast reporting, change management and on-site delivery. You will also provide technical advice, maintain strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to continuous improvement across the project.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor of Engineering
• At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience
• Demonstrated capability in scheduling, financial management and reporting
• Experience supporting change management and driving quality outcomes in project delivery
• Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
• Commitment to Zero Harm and working within safety, quality and environmental systems.
• Transmission industry experience is preferred
