Job summary

Visy in Shepparton is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our food can site on a full-time basis. The role involves Monday to Friday, 7am–3pm, with 40-hour weeks and optional weekend work at penalty rates.

You will diagnose PLC/plant faults, support electrical upgrades, perform routine checks and manage breakdowns. A VIC A‑grade licence and PLC experience are essential, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification with VIC A‑grade licence required.
• Experience with Alan Bradley PLC control systems and automation diagnostics.
• Strong background in preventative and breakdown maintenance in fast‑paced manufacturing, ideally food space.
• Ability to work with production teams to resolve issues.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and safety.
• A proactive attitude and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults in Alan Bradley PLCs, wiring and plant equipment.
• Engage in electrical system upgrades and equipment overhauls as required.
• Carry out routine electrical checks and respond to breakdowns promptly.
• Complete daily work orders using the Ampro system.

Role details:

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our Shepparton Food Can site. This is a full-time permanent career role.

• Days Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm
• 40hour weeks (with 4 hours banked RDO time)
• Saturdays and Sundays available at penalty rates

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll play a vital role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely.

What you'll do:

• Diagnose and fix problems with components, Alan Bradley PLCs, wiring and equipment throughout the plant.
• Involvement in upgrades to electrical systems and completing overhauls of equipment as required.
• Perform routine electrical checks and attend breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Complete daily work orders - we use Ampro system

What you'll bring:

• Electrical trade qualification with an open A grade VIC electrical licence.
• Experience in Alan Bradley PLC control system, automation diagnostics and fault finding
• Strong experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance in fast-paced manufacturing environments - ideally in the food space
• Working alongside the production team to resolve issues.
• Passion for continuous improvement and optimisation.
• A proactive attitude and a commitment to safety.
